2011

CWDGAH-11
Yes, after a hiatus of several years, the CWDGAH came back in 2011! Thanks to Laura (the Motoprincess) and Lance for organizing it. About two dozen of the faithful congregated at Birch Cliff Lodge, on Baptiste Lake near Bancroft, the weekend of September 16, 17, 18. Yummy dinners with homemade pies for dessert were enjoyed, good roads were ridden, tall tales were told late into the night, prizes were awarded, and friendships formed or renewed.

Wrench Party
Robyn hosted a wrench part at which we attempted to illustrate some one-step-beyond-basic service procedures for such tasks as changing brake and clutch fluids, and servicing forks.

2010

Group Ride at Robyn's place, Monday May 24th. A sizable crowd convened to collect their OntVFR swag, then we rode around looking for a half-decent road somewhere. We zig-zagged east and west in the general area north-west of Wellesley, and then headed for Conestogo Lake and on to Drayton for lunch. It was a ghost-town save for one small diner that was grateful for a big burst of business. From there we eventually landed in Elora and people peeled off at various points to head home.

2009

FAST Some of the VFR crew attended FAST on May 20/21 2009.
COTU. The annual Centre Of The Universe ride (organized by "the Big List") took place this year on May 15-17 in Marietta Ohio.

The 2009 Supershow has come and gone. Thanks to all who dropped by the booth and helped us celebrate the 10th anniversary of OntVFR! Welcome to new members who found us there.

2008

2008 Supershow. We had a booth at the Supershow in January 2008. We caught up with some old friends, made some new ones, and answered lots of questions about all things VFR. Special thanks to those members who showed their bikes, helped set up, staff the booth, and tear down, and also to Honda Canada for generously contributing brochures and a 2007 VFR800 in anniversary colours. (Do we really have to give it back?) Check out the pics in the photo gallery!
Deal's Gap Expeditions. After a couple of scouting excursions early in the season (e.g. Doug, Brad, Peter, and Robyn in mid-May), a large contingent of OntVFR members headed for the notorious glorious Deal's Gap in mid-June. David G. was the coordinator.

2007

Fall Colours Ride, Sept. 29/30. The annual Fall Colours Ride took place on the weekend of September 29/30th. Centre of operations is the town of Sharbot Lake. Have a look at the Sunsets web sit e for accommodations, suggested riding routes, etc.
The Supershow. After skipping 2004, OntVFR returned to the Toronto Supershow in 2006, and we were back again in January 2007. We showed off four VFRs: one 94-97, one 98-01, and two 02-06. There was plenty of interest, from club members, VFR owners who had heard of us, others who hadn't, and familiar faces we'd met at previous bike shows.

2006

WDGAH. This year's edition of the original WDGAH was held September 8/9 in Lebanon, New Hampshire. It was the tenth edition of WDGAH. Visit the WDGAH web site for more info.
CWDGAH-6. The sixth annual Canuck We Don't Give A Hoot (CWDGAH) OntVFR rally was held on the weekend of August 12/13 at Sharbot Lake. It's the biggest OntVFR event of the season, featuring great riding and dining at Sunsets.
Meet And Greet. Friday June 23rd, 7:00 pm, at the Mohawk Inn, 9230 Guelph Line, Campbellville, Ont., a bunch gathered to meet and greet.
COTU VII. The Big VFR List held its seventh annual Centre Of The Universe gathering May 12-14 in Marietta Ohio. Several OntVFR guys have attended previous COTUs and by all reports they're great fun with plenty of wonderful roads.
FAST. A bunch of OntVFR folks attended the FAST riding school on May 10 and 11.
Suspension Clinic. A few years ago we held a couple of suspension clinics at two bike shops. It seemed about time we did it again. Twenty-five or so members and friends gathered on March 12/06 to gain an understanding springs, damping, rebound, compression, what the adjustments on your bike do, how to dial them in to suit your riding style, and what revalving is all about. Thanks to Cycle Improvements in Waterloo for hosting this event.
The Supershow. After skipping last year, OntVFR returned to the Supershow in Toronto, January 6, 7, 8, 2006. With twice the floorspace as we had in previous years, we showed off four VFRs, one from each of the series from 1990 through 2005. There was plenty of interest, from club members, VFR owners who had heard of us, others who hadn't, and familiar faces we'd met at previous bike shows. Check back later for pictures.

2005

LOLFCR1. New this year, by popular demand, was the Land O' Lakes Fall Colour Run. It took place the weekend of October 1.
C5 The Fifth Annual Canadian We Don't Give a Hoot (a.k.a. CWDGAH 5, a.k.a. C5), feature event of the OntVFR season, was held on August 12-14, 2005, at Sharbot Lake. Full details at the CWDGAH web site. Some quotes from attendees...

2004

C4 The fourth annual Canuck We Don't Give a Hoot (CWDGAH #4, a.k.a. C4 for short) was held the weekend of August 14, 2004. We returned to Sharbot Lake for this highlight event of the OntVFR season. See the CWDGAH web site for more information.
FAST 2004 A sizeable roster of riders attended the OntVFR FAST sessions. FAST level I took place Wednesday May 12, 2004, with the level II session on the following day. Thanks to David "The Mighty Galeforce" Gale for organizing it. Check out this photo and send in your amusing caption! Dan in Ottawa has a bunch of photos from this event.
COTU 2004 This year's "Centre of the Universe" ride was held the weekend of April 30 - May 2. OntVFR is not the organizer but it's a fairly VFR-oriented event in the USA. Look here for details. Also, have a look at Dave "Routemeister" Thompson's COTU route maps for maps of recommended rides in the area.
International Motorcycle Supershow January 2-4, 2004, International Centre, Toronto. The OntVFR club once again had a both at the bike show. Many folks dropped by to meet fellow club members, ogle a rare VFR400R (thanks to Doug T. for bringing it all the way from Virginia!), and talk about whether the new matte black '04 VFR is ugly or nice.

2003

December Bike Show Dates: Dec 5-6-7, 2003. Some pictures provided by Wilfred Lee. More pixs at I don't know whose site.
More Fall Colour Rides Date: Oct 10, 11 2003. Our attempt at a fall colour ride on the weekend of October 4 was severely impaired by crummy weather. Maybe there'll be another one...? A few impromptu group rides happened on Thanksgiving weekend. Morris led a small group for a Muskoka ride on Friday Oct 10th for example. Peter led a small group for a Muskoka ride on Saturday Oct 11th. And Stephen has photos from a group ride in the Parry Sound area.
Fall Colour Ride Date: October 4-5, 2003. The weather totally sucked, so this was not the fine event we were hoping for.
Track Day 2 Date: September 22, 2003. Our first annual track day last year was a huge success. This year's was also a winner (and no on-track crashes either!). Thanks once again to Honda Canada too for bringing the demo fleet. See the ttrack day web page. Pictures are posted on Chris Park's gallery. A few more are at Tim Voyer's gallery.
WDGH 7 Date: September 13-14, 2003. The seventh annual "We Don't Give a Hoot" took place in West Lebanon, New Hampshire. Visit the general WDGAH site, and the WDGH7 site for details.
CWDGAH 3 Date: August 15-16-17 2003. This year's CWDGAH-3 was held in Sharbot Lake. (Well, not in the lake...) We had a great time, with fine dining at Sunsets, despite the big power failure that threatened to dim the lights on the party. You can find some photos on the Gallery page on the Sunsets web site. More photos from Stephen Standen at this page (though it seems not to work very well with older Netscapes).
group ride Date: June 1, 2003. A bunch of guys decided to go for a spin around the Paris area. There were close to 20 bikes in all. Thanks to Chris Park for providing photos of this impromptu event.
FAST Date: May 21-22, 2003. Once again we had a FAST session all to ourselves. FAST course 1 ran on May 21, and FAST course 2 on the 22nd. For an assortment of photos, try visiting Chris Park's gallery, and also Jeff Goss's gallery.
impromptu group ride April 27, 2003. A bunch of guys just decided to go for a spin together. New list member "Might Vexorg" took some pictures for your enjoyment.
Dyno Clinic March 30, 2003. Thanks to Cycle Improvements for hosting a very informative and fun event. We learned a lot about carbs, fuel injection, and dynos, and got to see how well Steve's VFR ran with its aftermarket air filter, pipes, and ignition module. Check out the photos kindly provided by Chris Park.
January 2003 Bike Show Dates: Jan 3,4,5 2003, Toronto. We had an OntVFR booth at the annual Motorcycle Supershow. It was good to meet a bunch of list members in person, as well as talk to new people while they checked out our display of VFR800, VFR800-VTec, and RC30. Pictures coming soon.

2002

December bike show Naturally we congregated at the all-new bike show in Toronto, December 6-8, 2002.
Friday 13th A bunch of us checked out the Friday 13th rally in Port Dover on Sept 13th, 2002. You have to see it to believe it.
We Don't Give a Hoot VI The WDGH IV ride took place September 7-8 in New Hampshire. This event is a VFR rally put on by "The Big List" sort of as a response to the official Honda Hoot rally. There's another web site for this event.
Canuck WDGH II Severin, Ken, and others organized the second CWDGH the weekend of August 17, 2002. Home base was Bancroft and a large contingent attended to enjoy the riding and some fine dining. Check the web page for photos.
Track Day Date: July 2, 2002. Stephen Duggan, Mike Ballis, and Glenn Holdbrook hosted the first OntVFR Track Day. It was a great success! Everyone had fun, though a few riders had a bit of extra "experience" they probably regret. In addition to a strong turn-out from the list members, we also had special guests Honda Canada and Cycle Canada magazine. (Be sure to pick up the Sept/Oct issue!) Photos are available thanks to a few volunteers: Brian Bourne's friend, and Shane Stevens.
Ride to Remember Date: June 1-2, 2002. This is not specifically an OntVFR event; it's in remembrance of Rick Andrews, former Cycle Canada magazine contributor, and is put on by the Motorcycle Rider TV show.
Deal's Gap Ride Date: May 18-25, 2002. Stephen Duggan and David Gale coordinated a "Fellowship of the Tail" group ride to Deal's Gap. Read the poetic trip report and the by-the-numbers trip report.
COTU3 A few intrepid members braved the nasty weather to attend the third COTU rally in Georgia, end of April 2002. Pictures are available thanks to Jeff Goss and Karel Vanek.

2001

SportBike Rally Here's the blurb for the 2001 SportBike Rally. And thanks to Hugo, some photos are available from the 2002 rally.
Suspension Clinic 1 Robyn organized a suspension clinic at Cycle Improvements in 2001.
Suspension Clinic 2 Frederic Marchal did likewise at Twin Seasons Recreation a short time later.
Algonquin ride Autumn, 2001. Thanks to Hugo Barbosa for the pictures which include some from the January 2002 Toronto Internation bike show too.
